About Gilbert O. Nyamweya He holds a Bachelor of Laws degree (LL.B Hons) from University of Nairobi, Diploma in Law (KSL), Certified Public Accountant, Commissioner for Oaths. He has over the years gained considerable experience in commercial transactional law particularly in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, equipment leasing, corporate reorganization, debt restructuring, capital markets, corporate taxation, corporate finance, project finance, syndicated financing transactions, purchase and sale of businesses, civil aviation and aircraft law, property and conveyancing. He is involved in protection of intellectual property including patents, copyright, trade and service marks, industrial designs, geographical indications and plant breeders' rights which also involves advising on licensing of user rights in intellectual property. Gilbert also advises on a range of regulatory matters including energy law, water sector laws, environmental management and utilization. From time to time, he is engaged in arbitration and alternative dHe has authored papers on regional Integration in East Africa, equipment leasing, conflict of laws and dispute resolution in transnational commercial transactions; arbitration and exploitation of legal relationships and concepts in business and commerce. He has an interest in the energy sector, water sector, bio-safety and biodiversity, environmental management, ICT, tourism industry, commercial arbitration, project finance and corporate finance.
