Cyrus Maina directs the professional development of the firms Tax Law Practice as the team leader in all matters related thereto including legal research, collecting and maintaining a data base of information on the legal developments in this practice area.

Key Practice Areas Practices Tax Law Advisory including assisting clients in tax compliance. For, corporate clients, he normally advises them on then most tax efficient remuneration packages for their top-executives and expatriate employees.
In addition, he has wide experience in corporate and commercial law. He has been involved in setting-up of local business operations of various local and international clients especially in real estate development, hotel and tourism, telecommunication, food, energy and agriculture industries, to mention but a few. He has also been involved in advising such clients on licensing requirements and employment issues as well as assisting their expatriate employees to procure work permits and other immigration documents.
Besides, he has practical experience in banking security documentation, both locally and internationally, and has been involved in project finance documentation and debt restructuring not to mention perfection of various banking security documents like debentures and inter-lenders loan agreements.
He is also a reputed non-profit making organizations lawyer, and has been involved in setting up of various charitable entities including incorporation of Religious and Charitable Trusts, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), Foundations and Societies. He is also generally advises such entities on their legal matters besides procuring various tax exemptions and remissions on their behalf (where applicable).
Last but not least, he has been involved in drafting of various subsidiary legislation most recent being in the tea sub-sector.
