His responsibilities as a managing partner involve providing strategic leadership for the branch, managing human and captial resources and attracting and growing the business of the branch and the firm in general
Mwangi directs the professional development of the firm's Corporate Law practice as team leader in all matters related thereto including legal research, collecting and maintaining a data base of information on the legal developments in this practice area. His has done research on corporate governance and international commercial transactions.

He routinely handles corporate governance issues, incorporation of trusts, registration of societies, registration of business names, registration and incorporation of Non-Governmental Organizations and the regulatory regime thereof, registration and incorporation of Co-operative Societies as well as the regulatory framework, incorporation of various forms of Companies including domestication of foreign companies, corporate re-structuring, drafting of various international and domestic commercial agreements, proprietary rights and transactions, as well as commercial litigation.
